Giancarlo Cordasco is a music industry executive with over a decade of experience across major and independent labels, formerly Head of U.S. Operations & Promotion at Armada Music and Promotion Manager at RCA Records. He is the founder of Lunar Vision Entertainment, an artist consulting and label-services agency focused on release strategy, DSP coordination, radio promotion, and commercial partnerships.

Tell us about what inspired you to work in the music industry, and how did it lead to the work you do today?
 
I began as a musician, playing in bands most of my life and studying classical performance in college, which led me to pursue a music business degree.

Is there a success story or career milestone that you are most proud of?
 
There have been plenty of wins contributing to breaking new artists with radio #1's to building big streaming stories, but the most humbling milestone is seeing how far I’ve come, from starting in the business as an assistant to now founding my own music company.
 
Are there any projects you're working on or company updates that you're most excited about?

LVE is working on several exciting projects, including forthcoming EPs from techno/house artist Avision and progressive house artist Matt Pridgyn, with much more in the works.
 
What's a lesson that you learned early on in the music biz?
 
Be honest, kind, and genuine to everyone you come across, and approach everything you do with intention.
 
What's your favorite part of your job and/or company?
 
The music first and foremost, and getting to work directly with some of the best artists in the world,  but also the ability to be my own boss and build something of my own.
 
What does being independent mean to you?
 
The ability to build, partner, and move with intention based on your own creative vision. 

Outside of your work in music, do you have any other hobbies or particular areas interest/expertise?
 
I enjoy seasonal sports including golf and snowboarding and spending time with friends, family and my puppy Luna. 
 
Any words of advise for rising music industry professionals?
 
Network, ask a lot of questions, always show interest and treat people with respect.
