A2IM Hires Grey Gordon, Promotes Chirag Patel and Emmaline McCourt

headshotsNew York, NY (August 19, 2025) – The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) is thrilled to welcome Grey Gordon as the new Communications and Digital Marketing Manager. The organization is also promoting from within. Chirag Patel was promoted to Senior Director, Membership, and Emmaline McCourt to Membership Director. They were previously Membership Director and Membership Manager, respectively.

Her passion for storytelling and strategic communication will play a vital role in amplifying the voices of our members and advancing A2IM’s mission. We look forward to the energy and innovation she will bring to our organization.”

Grey has over ten years of experience in the independent music industry, specializing in branding, creative marketing, and digital strategy. She previously served as Brooklyn Basement’s Creative Director + Digital Director, as well as manager to indie pop duo Oshima Brothers. After kick-starting her professional life interning at Asthmatic Kitty Records, Grey has built her career working with independent artists at all levels, her work guided by a deep passion for storytelling. 

Since joining A2IM, Chirag has played a pivotal role in expanding the association’s network of over 800 independent music companies, fostering meaningful B2B connections, and developing strategic initiatives to strengthen the independent music sector. With experience spanning both India and the United States, Chirag brings a global perspective to A2IM’s mission.

As the Director of Membership for A2IM, Emmaline will continue onboarding and working with the association's diverse group of label members. She also represents A2IM at conferences throughout the world, speaking on panels and hosting presentations to share the organization's mission. And in summer 2024, she took over the mentorship program, which has served 700+ music industry professionals since its inception. Emmaline has previously held roles at Qobuz, Mute, Beggars Group, Forced Exposure, and WZBC; she brings a diverse breadth of experience to her role, which aids in her advising A2IM label members. She is also active in the industry outside of A2IM, as a member of the Recording Academy's New York Chapter Member Engagement Committee and the NOLA MusiCon Advisory Board.
